About the Journal
About Periphérica Journal
"Words were made to speak," suggests Graciliano Ramos when commenting on his writing in Vidas Secas. Periphérica Journal is born from this commitment: an ethical, political, and clinical discourse that sustains listening where it has historically been refused — at the margins.
There is knowledge produced outside academic circuits, at geographic, symbolic, institutional, and epistemic margins, and it is urgent that these not be read as deficit, lack, or absence, but as active sites of thought, language, and desire production. Knowledge-speaking with desire.
Scope
The journal is located in the field of psychoanalysis, in radical dialogue with education, culture, politics, and the humanities, affirming that the subject does not exist outside the historical conditions that traverse it. Body, language, and social bond appear here as territories of dispute, suffering, invention, and resistance.
Peripheral Listening
Periphérica Journal invests in a concept born from the ground of Baixada Fluminense: Peripheral Listening, a theoretical, practical, and clinical operator. It is a situated and implicated listening that recognizes intersections of race, class, gender, territory, history, and other legitimacies in the constitution of psychic suffering and modes of subjectivation.
With biannual periodicity, Periphérica Journal adopts the Open Access model, understanding that knowledge should not be a commodity or privilege, but a common good.
